Sitting in the heart of the Wallingford neighborhood in Seattle, this 1923 bungalow is a charm. Renovated in 2001, its original character was preserved while the function was modernized with new spaces and modern amenities.
The kitchen was completely renovated including the original nook. Oak floors, granite counters, slate backsplash and stainless appliances were installed. A mudroom with slate flooring and a bead board ceiling was created from a former back porch. Two bathrooms were restored with hex tile floors, bead board wainscoting and period fixtures. An open railing stair was created to help integrate the second story.
New landscaping and a rear stone patio, with built-in fire pit, complete the impressive transformation.
