Set in a lush forest on Bainbridge Island, Washington, this 70’s era home was ideal for a makeover. The project focus was to modernize the space, make it functional for a growing family, and to take advantage of the national park-like setting surrounding the home.
The entry hall was opened up to create an impressive two-story space incorporating the daylight basement, which opens the indoors onto the back yard and grounds. The main floor also included a complete renovation of the kitchen, dining and living rooms, as well as the creation of a master suite.
The exterior additions involved new canopies for the front and back entries, a deck for the master bedroom and a “treehouse-like” bay addition off the dining room.
